I had to stop doing eye surgery around 2002 because I developed a number of medical problems, including vestibular migraine. I'd been in practice only a couple of years but I had to stop as this disorder made microsurgery, patient examination and laser treatment impossible. It is fairly well controlled now with lifestyle changes and medications, and I am able to have activities outside my home for several hours a day. Otherwise, I’m home, not so uncommon now with COVID regulations. A wise man once said boredom was, beyond illness and tragedy, the main obstacle to happiness. So I have a lot of hobbies.
